Dr. Heidenreich stated that at the last Board of Education/Superintendent retreat, they developed a list of goals that they wanted to achieve.  Some of these goals have been attained while some are still a work in progress.  Would like to have a set of goals for the 2013/2014 school year as well.  Is the Board interested in having another retreat to set new goals?  Board Vice President Chiachiere felt that the goals are ongoing and that a retreat is a good idea.  Trustee DiSibio added that the goals should be set by the entire Board so a retreat would be a good idea to develop new goals.

Board President Antonelli polled the Board to see if there was an interest in holding a Board Of Education/Superintendent retreat.  The consensus of the Board, by a 6-3 vote, was to schedule another retreat.

RESULT:              DISCUSSED

Attorney's Report

Greg Guercio, Attorney for the District, presented a recent federal discrimination case, the Plaintiff District Director of Mathematics, an African American, claimed that the Defendant school district unlawfully discriminated against him on the basis of race.  The Court ruled in favor of the Defendant school district, granting its motion for summary judgment.  A copy of the report was given to the District Clerk for distribution to the Board of Education.
