The Business Meeting of the Board of Education of the Valley Stream Central High School District will be held in the Memorial Junior High School, Cafeteria B, 320 Fletcher Avenue, Valley Stream, NY 11580 on November 8, 2016 at 8:00 PM

A.              Annual Professional Performance Review Plan (APPR)

Be it resolved, that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Valley Stream Central High School District hereby approves an Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) Plan pursuant to Education Law §3012-d and Subpart 30-3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents, and authorizes execution by the Superintendent of Schools and the President of the Board of Education of any and all required APPR Plan documents and/or certifications for submission to the State Education Department.

B.              Appeal of Student Suspension

RESOLVED, the Board of Education hereby denies the appeal of the parent of the student listed in Confidential Schedule "B" from the decision of the Superintendent to uphold the Principal's suspension and authorizes the District Clerk to issue a decision letter to the parents on behalf of the Board of Education.

C.              Authorization to Initiate Legal Action

Resolved that the Board of Education hereby authorizes the law firm of Guercio & Guercio, LLP to initiate legal action with respect to the matters identified on Confidential Schedule "A" with respect to payments in lieu of taxes.

C.              Approval of Consulting Services for Food Service Management – HMB Consultants

Be it resolved, upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that the board of Education hereby awards a Food Service Management Consultant Agreement Contract to HMB Consultants for the period beginning December 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 in the amount of $12,500, and authorizes the President of the Board of Education to execute an agreement setting the terms and conditions of the consulting service. (RFP #16/17-B05)

D.              Award of Investigative Services Contract

Be it resolved, upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that the Board of Education hereby awards a contract for the fiscal year 2016-2017 to Global Investigations, Yaphank, NY for investigative services on an occasional basis.  A detailed rate sheet is available for review in the Business Office.  (Hewlett Woodmere Cooperative Bid # 16/17-14)

E.              Approval of Special Education Services Contract-Hewlett-Woodmere UFSD-Non-Resident Student Tuition Agreement

Be it resolved, that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves an agreement with Hewlett-Woodmere Union Free School District for Non-Resident Student Tuition, Special Education, Related Services and Instructional Services in the amount set by the State Education Department, and hereby authorizes the President of the Board of Education to execute said agreement.

F.              Approval of Network Liability & Privacy Protection Insurance Policy Renewal

Be it resolved, upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that the Request for Proposal from Bollinger Inc./Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services Inc./              Lloyd's London Insurance Company for Network Liability & Privacy Protection Insurance, effective November 19, 2016-November 19, 2017, in the premium amount of $11,537.22 be approved by the Board of Education. (RFP:#14/15-B03 & continuing)

G.              Budget Transfers

Be it resolved, that upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that the Business Committee recommends the approval of budget transfers dated November 8, 2016 in accordance with Board Policy 6150.
